Dr. Enrica Loria (BSc and MSc in Computer Science from the University of Salerno, Italy, and Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technology from the University of Trento, Italy) is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Interactive Systems and Data Science at Graz University of Technology (TUG), in the Game Lab Graz group.
She first approached game development the first time during her Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis; the latter developed during a 6-month visiting period at the University of Skövde (Sweden).
She then moved towards Games User Research in 2017. Specifically, in her Ph.D. project, she studied Adaptive Gameplay in interactive, motivational systems by investigating players’ individual and social behaviors. Her main research interest lies in studying games as social platforms, focusing on players’ communities (both within and around games), social interaction patterns, peer influence, and connectedness through games.
